On International Women's Day, Sisters to the Front, the women's network of the Union Workers' Union, are proud to launch our draft Standards, Eliminating Sexual Violence in the UK Trade Union Movement.

To find out more about the Standards, why they are needed and how they were developed, watch and share our video:

With support from Sisters to the Front, the Standards are an opportunity for our members and representatives to engage and feedback on embedding these Standards in our trade union workplaces.

Marianne Quick, Co-Founder of Sisters to the Front and UWU NEC Member says:

"We have collectively designed these Standards for implementation in trade union workplaces based on the lived experiences of our members. Their purpose is to confront and tackle sexual violence head-on.

"Our aim is clear: to break the silence, demand accountability, and push for the establishment of an independent standards authority that ensures the safety and dignity of all union workers.

"Together, we will chart a path towards building structures that truly empower, protect and support women in our movement."

Chris Musgrave, UWU General Secretary says:

"We are really proud of the collaboration of our women’s network, Sisters to the Front and our activist educator partners, the RED Learning Co-operative.

"The Standards document we are launching today is the first step on a longer journey to make our workplaces safe and we need your help to embed change across union workplaces.

"Join the UWU and help us eliminate sexual violence in trade unions."
