The Union Workers’ Union (UWU) is proud to announce its official recognition by the Society and College of Radiographers (SoR / CoR). This landmark agreement underscores the shared commitment of both organisations to promoting fair representation, workplace equality, and improved conditions for radiography professionals across the UK.
The recognition agreement establishes the UWU as a partner in collective bargaining, enabling the union to advocate on behalf of its members. The partnership will ensure union workers’ voices are heard and their contributions acknowledged within their workplaces and beyond.
Commenting on the recognition, SoR and CoR Chief Executive, Richard Evans said:
“The Society of Radiographers is the trade union for all non-medical members of the healthcare workforce involved in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy. We believe that the ideals and values we advocate for our members are as important for our own employees. We have a long tradition of supporting union membership for staff and of securing this with union recognition.
“This new agreement with UWU marks the next stage in close partnership working and productive relations for the benefit of employees of the SoR and CoR.”
UWU General Secretary, Chris Musgrave, added:
“This recognition marks a significant milestone for our union and our members. We thank the Society and College of Radiographers for their commitment to constructive dialogue and shared values. With this agreement in place, we look forward to building a stronger, fairer future for our union worker members and ensuring their hard work and expertise are properly valued.”
This recognition comes at a time when union workers are facing increasing challenges in the trade union sector. Both organisations reaffirm their dedication to addressing these challenges through joint initiatives that prioritise members’ wellbeing and professional development.
